Airline Industry Information - Proposals to boost Aer Lingus to be presented next monthAIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
Proposals to develop a second terminal at Dublin Airport and inject cash into the state-owned airline Aer Lingus will be presented next month, the Irish government said on Thursday (21 April).
The Irish transport minister said that within the next few weeks he would present proposals that will address and resolve both the securing of capital for Aer Lingus and the construction and operation of terminal two at Dublin Airport.
The Irish government has argued for a long time over what to do about both the airline and airport, as one party in the government, Fianna Fail, favours keeping some state control over both enterprises, while the Progressive Democratic Party favours full privatization, reports The Associated Press.
