Skeptical Inquirer - PBS premiers NOVA ScienceNow

The Public Broadcasting System has begun a new science-magazine program that's spun off from the networks popular series, NOVA. NOVA scienceNOW, which premiered on January 25, 2005, will run five episodes in 2005, covering such diverse topics as the life cycle of the T. rex, the threat of hurricanes to the Big Easy, the ant-farm inspiration of robot builder James McLurkin, and the brain chemistry of sports fans.

The series is hosted by ABC News correspondent Robert Krulwich, familiar from that networks nightly news and Nightline, who will be backed by other science journalists covering the latest from the world of science and technology. Where NOVA focuses on a single subject in each episode, NOVA scienceNOW will offer faster-paced coverage of a number of topics. Check the schedule of your local PBS affiliate for air dates and times or go to www.pbs.org or www.wgbh.org for updates and descriptions of upcoming episodes.
