Airline Industry Information - Woman sues over money seized at Logan airport

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

A US woman has launched legal action in a bid to recover money that was seized from her at Boston's Logan International Airport by a Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) agent.

The 26-year-old woman was found to be carrying USD46,950 in cash in her bra as she was preparing to board a flight to Texas for plastic surgery. According to the woman's lawyer she earned the money by selling a business and property in Boston's Jamaica Plain.

A spokesman for the DEA refused to comment on the lawsuit, but said that agents can seize suspected drug profits under federal asset forfeiture laws, reported The Associated Press.
