Airline Industry Information - San Francisco airport security firm accused of breachesAIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD
The company responsible for security at San Francisco International Airport is being sued by a former employee who has made a number of allegations of security breaches.
The former employee of Covenant Aviation Security says that he had raised serious concerns with management but was threatened with his job before being demoted and was eventually forced to quit.
The man claims that during his two years at the airport many passengers got through security with knives or box cutters and one carried through a small chainsaw. He also alleges that Covenant developed a way of notifying security checkpoint managers when undercover inspectors were working in the airport.
The president of Covenant Aviation Security said that the allegations were "unsubstantiated", reported The Associated Press.
