Airline Industry Information - Continental says flight attendants could authorise a strike if agreement is not ratified

AIRLINE INDUSTRY INFORMATION-(C)1997-2005 M2 COMMUNICATIONS LTD

The flight attendants of Continental Airlines (NYSE:CAL) are to vote on strike authorisation if an agreement proposal with the airline remains unratified.

Continental said that its flight attendants will vote on whether or not they want to give their union, the International Association of Machinists (IAM), authorisation to call a strike.

According to the airline it could be forced to cancel flights if there is a strike, which would affect its results and financial conditions, Reuters reported.
